Virtual Happy Hour Meetings
by Mister Ermeson | Source: FORBES
In a matter of a few weeks, the world has become a different place.
While people focus on social distancing and self-isolating in an attempt to flatten the curve of coronavirus, many restaurants, cinemas, theaters, schools and many different business places are closed, and social gatherings with friends and family are on pause.
To that end, virtual happy hours have suddenly seen an incredible surge, as more and more people turn to options like Zoom, skype, etc to meet up with friends in a different way than ever before.
What is a virtual happy hour?
It’s exactly what it may sound like it is. Choose a platform, create a meeting time, and send out invites to friends or loved ones. Then, gather together with a drink or a snack, and catch up - from across town, or across the world.
The important thing to remember for everyone is that physical distancing does not need to mean a lack of connection. There’s still lots of ways to stay social and stay in touch with those we love.
We just are learning to be more creative about it.
